Opening and Summer Festival
Termine:
Sunday, 07/05/2026, 11:00
From 5 July to 27 September 2026, the International Ceramics Museum in Weiden will be hosting the exhibition ‘Helmut Menzel: rougher than rough’.
The Berlin-based artist creates sculpturally conceived ceramic vessels that remain functional whilst at the same time pointing far beyond their practical purpose. New works are being created especially for Weiden, in which Menzel works with wooden models, serial processes and unusual specifications.
The exhibition will open as part of the summer festival organised by the Friends’ Association ‘Die Keramischen e.V.’. The Friends’ Association invites you to the International Ceramics Museum. There will be music, ‘Saure Zipfel’ and the opportunity to explore the new exhibition in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Friends’ Association has supported the work of the International Ceramics Museum in Weiden for many years and is particularly committed to supporting the special exhibitions. The summer festival combines the new exhibition with a social gathering at the museum.
