Past exhibitions
The International Ceramic Museum Weiden opened in 1990. It is a branch museum of Die Neue Sammlung in Munich. Since then, many exhibitions have taken place here. They focused on ceramics, porcelain, design, and everyday culture. Some exhibitions showed single artists, others explored larger themes or collections.
For many early exhibitions, there are only a few photos today. Often they were not photographed digitally. Sometimes only posters, texts, or old programs still exist. That is why not all exhibitions can be shown with images on the website, even though they were important.
Still, the range of exhibitions becomes clear. There were large overview shows, exhibitions on porcelain and design, and presentations of individual artists. These included Eva Zeisel, Hans-Theo Baumann, Beate Kuhn, Roland Summer, and regional artists such as Elina Märtin. This mix of regional, national, and international topics continues to shape the museum today, supported by Die Neue Sammlung and the friends’ association Die Keramischen e.V.
