Porcelain connects
Porcelain is important for the city of Weiden. People have worked with porcelain here for a long time. It is part of the city’s history. Porcelain is used every day, for eating and drinking. It brings people together at the table.
The exhibition shows porcelain from the companies Seltmann and BHS Tabletop, with the brands Bauscher and Schönwald. Their products are used at home and in hotels and restaurants around the world. The exhibition explains how porcelain is made and how shapes and uses have changed over time.
Some objects are shown on their own, so you can see the shape and material clearly. Other areas show set tables. There you can see porcelain in use. This shows how porcelain connects local tradition with everyday life around the world.
