Five Bavarian museums cooperate with Die Neue Sammlung in Weiden

The International Ceramics Museum Weiden owes its uniqueness to an extraordinary co-operation: five important Bavarian state museums present their ceramic collections on the upper floor. This unique diversity makes it possible to experience masterpieces in one place that would otherwise only be on display in the large museums in Munich.

State Collections of Antiquities

The State Collections of Antiquities are among the world’s leading museums of ancient art. They exhibit Greek, Roman and Etruscan masterpieces – from vases and sculptures to gold jewellery, glass and bronze works from the 3rd millennium BC to around 500 AD.

Archaeological State Collection

The Archaeological State Collection is the central Bavarian state museum for prehistory and early history. It presents archaeological finds from the Palaeolithic Age to the early Middle Ages – from Bavaria as well as from the Mediterranean region and the Near East, in order to show supra-regional cultural-historical connections.
